The FAQ

Do you Travel?

Absolutely! I am always up for some adventure! If you live more than 50 miles from me, we can chat details! We can create something custom to make your photo dreams come true!
this includes all sessions as well as weddings.

How long have you been doing this?

My passion for photography has been engraved in me since the first day I owned a camera. I have been doing this since 2013. Its been such a gift to grow and meet clients that have turned in to life long friends! There's nothing better than capturing such irreplaceable milestones and stories!

when is the best time of day to shoot

If its not the famous overcast our beautiful state has to offer. My absolute favorite favorite time of day to shoot is during the evening a few hours before sunset. It’s hands-down the most flattering light of the day! That "Golden hour" glow is my absolute favorite!

can you help pick a location?

Of course I would love to help! I have spotted and worked in some pretty areas from park settings to locations that scream PNW!

what happens when weather goes bad unexpectedly?

Well, Since we live in Washington, We know the weather is always going to surprise us!! If the forecast calls for unsuitable shooting conditions (rain/strong winds/snow/excessive heat), we will contact you the night before your session and see if it’s possible to make a call at that time. Often though, it’s a matter of waiting until those last few hours before to really know. If that’s the case, we will call you 3 hours prior to let you know our thoughts. If we postpone, no worries! We’ll compare calendars and come up with an alternate date that works well for both of us! us!

Whats your turn around time?

once your session is over, the agonizing wait begins! Traditional sessions I normally ask for a 2 week turn around time. Sometimes they are done sooner, but 2 weeks is the set time I give all my clients. Weddings are a little bit more of a wait on turn around times, But fear not! I post sneak peaks on social media outlets!

How do we book you?

Just give me a call, send me a text or send me an email!
Im here and ready!

How would you describe your style?

I love authentic images that are filled with emotion. I love bright colors and warm sunshine . I seek out genuine moments that make me FEEL something. I am a sentimental person and I get to put that passion in to my calling as a photographer.

Most photos are lightly posed, meaning I’ll help get you into place first and then encourage interaction and real expressions while we’re snapping away.

If you want to sum it up in a couple of words, my work is most often categorized as lifestyle photography.

I saw these cute photos on Pinterest. Can we do those?

I love Pinterest as much as the next girl! But Pinterest is best used as an initial source of inspiration, rather than a strict guideline for your photographer. If we’re focused on recreating someone else’s photos, that will leave us less time to create shots that showcase the unique aspects of your family. We are capturing YOUR irreplaceable moments.

If you do want to use Pinterest to help you plan your session, look at it as general inspiration — for instance, use it to figure out what style of photos you like, and then search for a photographer whose images match that style.

we want photos but arent picture people/ photogenic

Believe it or not, pretty much EVERYONE tells me this before their session, and it never turns out to be true! I love coaching my clients through having their photos taken, and I have a lot of tricks up my sleeve to make you look fabulous! When you’re having a great time, you’ll look more beautiful than you thought was possible. I promise! 🙂

What should we wear?

This is by far the most asked question any lifestyle photographer receives! The most important thing to consider is comfort! Everyone in the photo should be comfortable in what he/she is wearing. It shows when clothes need to be tugged into place or someone needs to "suck it in" Find clothing that fits well!

There are a few tips to help make this decision easier. The first is to consider color. Do you want the photo to have cool tones or warm tones? It is nice to stay within the same color family when it comes to clothing. Try to stay away form "matchy-smatchy" trends, jeans with white tops is a trend that has come and gone. The second tip is to avoid too much pattern. Some pattern with a pop of color can be nice but multiple patterns can come off as too busy. Once, you get your outfits finalized, take a picture of it yourself! If you like the way it looks together, then that's all that matters! Or send it to me, Id love to help where I can! Pinterest is filled with ideas and is a great resource.

IN SUMMARY
-Dress comfortably
-No matchy-smatchy
-Avoid busy patterns (thin stripes look psychedelic in photos. Stay away from stripes)
-Take a picture (lay it out on your bed. Send it to me too!)
-Don't over think it. Just be you!
--I also know lovely make up artists which several of my clients have used for family sessions, senior, boudoir, engagement ect..--

Why should I hire a husband and wife team for my wedding?

There are lots of reasons to hire a husband and wife photography team for your wedding day. We’ve been where you are, and we know what it takes to plan and pull off a wedding. And, because there’s two of us, we’re able to be in two places at once. This doubles your coverage, meaning you get a greater variety of perspectives, candids, and details. Plus I Trained my husband so his work is like having two of me!
But really, it’s more than all that. As a husband and wife team, we work exclusively with one another. We live, laugh and do life with each other. We’ve photographed many weddings over the years, and we’ve developed a great synergy and process. We know what the other person is thinking, and we’ve carved out our own special roles, which allows us to work efficiently and creatively together. Such a deep working relationship is difficult for photographers to achieve, if they’re not a couple themselves. For some artists. Every time we photograph a wedding, we bring our mutual experience to bear, which results in awesome pictures and a great experience for our clients.
Plus, who does like working with their best friend <3

Do you do payment plans?

YES! I do payment plans on almost all my packages. I never want money to be why you could get family photos or you could afford to get your wedding day captured by a experienced and talented artist. I never want money to be why anyone couldn't get their dream photographer. I told my self when I was an 18 year old mama, shopping around for photography, and realizing how expensive it was to find a talented artist to photograph my Husband, our daughter and myself. I told my self, If I ever jumped in and started my own photography business I would ALWAYS make sure money isnt what held anyone back from getting photos.

Payment plans are always customized to what each client can do. I typically ask for 50% down and we go from there. But send me an email and we can chat further to finda way that fits your Unique situation!

Whats the 10% off for life mean?

This means you have booked or are considering booking The Happily Ever After package! The 10% off for life means you get 10% off any future session with us, for life. You can use it as many times as you want. Its our way of saying thank you! Its also a gift and blessing to be able to grow with couples. Being there for their engagement session, to wedding is fun. but its a treat to be able to be there after as well for: a maternity session, or birth story to then family sessions to senior portraits, 20th Anniversary celebration...ts all so much fun and makes our journey in photography and doing life together so special and rewarding. Like I said I am a sentimental person, Lets grow together <3
